Regulatory Compliance

Helping clients navigate the rapidly evolving and complex consumer products regulatory landscape.

A key extension of our deep product liability practice, Hughes Hubbard’s regulatory compliance group works closely with clients to navigate the rapidly evolving and complex state and federal consumer products regulatory landscape.

The team covers a wide range of industries and product categories, including alcohol and beverages, tobacco and e-vapor products, cosmetics, e-gaming and sportsbooks, minerals, pharmaceuticals, and cannabis. Our lawyers have a comprehensive understanding of our clients’ challenges, opportunities and goals and provide sophisticated and precise guidance across a complete spectrum of regulatory and compliance issues facing companies today. In addition to a team of dedicated lawyers with a deep understanding of FDA and other regulatory bodies, the team and their clients are supported by dedicated PhD scientists and other specialists who bring a critical understanding of the science behind a product and provide insights required to develop effective regulatory, compliance and litigation strategies.

The team tracks and analyzes legal and regulatory developments in various consumer products categories and have represented multi-national research-based pharmaceutical companies, foreign and domestic alcohol, tobacco, medical device and cosmetic manufacturers, and other Fortune 500 companies in a diverse array of regulatory and litigation matters. Members of the team are also multidisciplinary, with additional expertise in and partnering with adjacent practice groups to provide product manufacturers with a full complement of related legal services impacting their businesses, including Mergers & Acquisitions, Patent, Trademark & Copyright Litigation, Product Liability, and issues in Life Science.
