We advise on all stages in the life cycle of private investment vehicles, including structuring, launch, fundraising and ongoing operational needs, across a range of asset classes, with a focus on venture capital, litigation funding, private credit, business development companies and other closed-end investment funds, aviation-related assets, crypto and blockchain-related assets, and real estate. Our team also advises asset managers on SEC registration and compliance issues. In addition, we assist institutional and individual investors (including family offices and high net worth individuals) in structuring and negotiating fund investments. Our size enables us to be nimble, and our broad range of services ensures we have insights into prevailing market terms and trends, structures, and industry best practices.

Our Asset Management practitioners collaborate seamlessly with Hughes Hubbard’s multidisciplinary teams in tax, regulatory, corporate, securities, mergers and acquisitions, and private client services, ensuring tailored solutions for every client.   • A commercial aircraft leasing platform in a jointly managed dedicated aviation fund with a private equity firm. The fund held its first closing with over $230 million of equity commitments from a diverse group of investors
  • A newly formed private credit manager seeded by a multinational financial services company in its registration as an investment adviser with the SEC
  • Erso Capital, a litigation funding manager, in the launch of litigation and patent litigation funds totaling more than $600 million in commitments
  • Griffin Global Asset Management, a commercial aircraft leasing platform, in the negotiation and execution of joint venture agreements with two aviation funds managed by Bain Capital
  • RA Capital Management, a healthcare-focused investment manager, in the formation and launch of its inaugural venture capital fund
